2 Methods to protect your page

You can password-protect single pages or groups of pages. Subpages underneath a protected page are automatically protected as well.

Website.com offers 2 ways to password-protect your pages:
Password-locked
Everyone shares the same password
Member login
Everyone has their own password

Password-Locked Pages

This is the fastest and easiest way to protect your web pages. With the password-lock method, you set the password for the page you want to protect. You can then share the password with your selected audience. Only visitors who have this password can access your protected page.

Even if you have set the same password for multiple pages, visitors will need to enter the correct password on each page, thus enhancing security.

Member Login-Required Pages

This method of password protection provides the maximum level of security as members are required to log in before the protected pages are displayed. Each member will have their unique login username and password combination.
In addition to added security, this method also offers better member management. You can manage all members from your Website.com dashboard.

Members are added either by yourself (and the username and password will be assigned by you) or by invitation, in which the system will send an email to the email address you specified so that the member can provide their own information and password to complete the registration process.
